My crafty daughter wanted to make her siblings something for Christmas this year. We came up with a cute, inexpensive idea that wasn't too difficult for her: felt puppets! We decided on the types of puppets to make by thinking of the interests of each person: her brother loves Curious George, so she made a Curious George puppet by looking at pictures of Curious George on the internet. Her sister loves dolls and dresses, so we came up with a cute girly puppet for her...

We traced around my hand to get the general puppet shape. My daughter hand-stitched around the puppet, and then cut out the details such as face, hair, hat, etc. We purchased wiggly eyes at the craft store, and glued everything on with fabric glue (regular school glue will not work!)
As you can see, they turned out so cute!

Felt is so inexpensive, does not fray, and comes in many different colors and patterns. The craft possibilities are endless!
